Our Awards

A top-class solution is at the core of what we do. As such, we are often recognised by the area we serve for our design achievements. Our team always put their all into their work. Here are two awards that we are particularly proud of.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Number One Design Award (2008)

A 1920's sun porch was removed from the front of the house and a new sun loggia and conservatory were created on the western side of the building. At Benchmark Joinery, we use the finest materials, so traditional pieces and construction techniques were used throughout the project so that it matched the designs of the original property. Local craftsmen were also hired, and carried out a variety of tasks, including the stained glass and ironwork.

Brick House With Conservatory

The judges found that the house was a fine restoration, and that it maintained the 1920's style throughout. They also complimented the detail in the joinery and stained glass. Maintaining the style also meant that the relationship between the garden and the house was restored, creating a warmer feel for the property. All of us here were thrilled to work on the project.

Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Number Two Design Award (2008)

Converting a disused building into a dwelling is no easy task, so we rose to the challenge. 'The Lookout' used to be the entry to the Saltburn Valley Gardens for the patrons of the Zetland Hotel(tm). As always, high-quality materials and craftsmanship were used throughout the project to replace original features. The building was successfully converted using joinery services from our company.

The judges complimented the attention to detail in the craftsmanship, and said the matching brickwork and balustrade railings added depth to the property. Praise of the extremely inventive conversion was high. The team showed their creativity and pushed themselves to provide a first-class service.
