Redcar & Cleveland Borough Council's Number One Design Award (2008)
A 1920's sun porch was removed from the front of the house and a new sun loggia and conservatory were created on the western side of the building. At Benchmark Joinery, we use the finest materials, so traditional pieces and construction techniques were used throughout the project so that it matched the designs of the original property. Local craftsmen were also hired, and carried out a variety of tasks, including the stained glass and ironwork.
The judges found that the house was a fine restoration, and that it maintained the 1920's style throughout. They also complimented the detail in the joinery and stained glass. Maintaining the style also meant that the relationship between the garden and the house was restored, creating a warmer feel for the property. All of us here were thrilled to work on the project.
